I came across an article in a local US paper today that I thought showed great initiative towards greener laundry practices. The article outlines the best “green” Laundromats in the area, for those who are looking for environmentally friendly options if they don’t have access to individual laundry services. The Green Hanger is an environmentally friendly Laundromat in Missoula, Montana. There is no worry of harsh chemicals because the Green Hanger uses hydrocarbons instead of nasty perchloroethylene and other detergents. They even won an award for the best Laundromat in Missoula, showing the eco-friendly does not have to mean compromising cleanliness. The only thing that could make this better is if they offered dryer free indoor options!

Bring It Back To Nature

As the beautiful summer weather continues, people are starting to get antsy, wanting to get away to camp grounds and beaches alike. Luckily, your switch to an environmentally friendly drying process will alleviate any stress laundry could create on your trip. Many clotheslines can be purchased and simply hung from trees, while others come in a carry case to be set up on campgrounds. Jane Marshall from The Edmonton Journal is a great example of people getting out of the house and out of their electronic rut. Jane and her family are travelling the province of Alberta this summer, showing that you can have a great time in nature with your family and without electronics.
